Updated from the Typhoon, renamed the Tempest with it to reduce the previous drag created by the thicker wing of the Typhoon, the Tempest saw an increase in power and maneuverability along with several other updates that made it one of the most impressive planes to come out of World War II. Not entering the war until 1944, the Tempest proved to be an excellent enemy aircraft to the Luftwaffe, taking down 239 confirmed victories against the axis in air-to-air combat. The Tempest's low altitude speed made it an extreme tactical weapon from the air, not only taking out fighter planes, but also destroying enemy trains and other military vehicles, but also protecting the homefront.
